First Aid Course  

A very successful First Aid Course delivered by the British Red Cross was held at ADAB for 12 ladies who gained life saving techniques.

The class was a two hour session which provided the participants with basic first aid knowledge as well covering specific topics such as dealing with three major killers which are interlinked:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart Attack
  • Stroke

Heart disease and stroke account for 65% of deaths in people with diabetes. therefore having knowledge of these symptoms, causes and how to deal with them is very important.

The course also covered the following:

  • Helping someone who is having or has had a heart attack
  • Helping someone who is having or has had a stroke
  • Helping someone who is experiencing or has experienced a diabetic emergency
  • Helping someone who has had a burn or scald
  • Helping someone who is choking

 

 


The participants were presented with First Aid Certificates from the British Red Cross as well as Everyday First Aid workbooks.
