ADAB has been involved with the Local Authority in helping to promote the Connecting Classrooms project within the local community and develop close linkages between this project and Read To Succeed project which is a part of the Active Citizens Programme.
Connecting Classrooms builds lasting partnerships between schools in the UK and others around the world. Through these partnerships, the programme develops trust and understanding between people in different societies, creating a safer and more connected world for the future.
It enables young learners to develop the skills and cultural awareness they need to become active global citizens, preparing them for life and work in the global society of the 21st century. The programme not only gives young people the opportunity to collaborate with their international peers, it also aims to bring about long-term systemic change to education worldwide, working with school leaders, teachers and policy makers to embed an international dimension in education systems.
These mutually beneficial relationships have brought about real benefits in delivering the objectives of both programmes and created strong future relationships.
