Active Citizens is a British Council leadership training programme for young people that promotes intercultural dialogue and community-led social development. Communities are connected globally through international opportunities to share learning and ideas as well as through the website and social media. Voluntary organisations and community groups are supported by the British Council to deliver the programme in their localities. Active Citizens connects thousands of like-minded people around the world who collectively want to make a fairer and more inclusive society.
ADAB’s programme in Bury brings together young people with different beliefs, backgrounds and perspectives to learn from and share experiences with each other. Working with our partners locally and globally, volunteer participants are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to design and implement social action projects to tackle social issues in their community.
