We provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment. Through a balance of learning and play, we support children’s cognitive development and build strong foundations for future success.
We offer funded and unfunded places, with morning, afternoon, or full-day sessions available. Our flexible sessions are designed to support all parents, especially our working parents and those attending college courses.
Our activities cover all areas of the Early Years Curriculum, ensuring that every child develops the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.

Mosses Community Preschool is an independent CIC providing a highly professional service offering a caring, stimulating, fun, learning environment to meet each child’s educational and social needs.
We provide our little people with exciting learning activities covering all aspects of the Early Years Curriculum. Our environment is safe, caring and friendly, a truly special place where every child comes first. Our high standards support children to learn and develop to the best of their ability, ensuring that they have a strong foundation in the knowledge and skills they need to start school.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
We are proud to offer high-quality, inclusive support for children with additional needs.
- Dedicated Level 6 Special Support Worker
- Direct support for children and guidance for staff
- Use of objects of reference and visual supports
- Setting has achieved Level 3 SENCO certification
We work closely with a range of professionals to support each child’s development, including:
- Health Visiting Team
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Educational Psychologist
- SEND Team
We work in partnership with families and professionals to ensure every child receives the best possible start.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do.
- Secure outdoor play area with 2.0m high fencing
- CCTV monitoring across the building and playground
- All staff hold enhanced DBS checks
- All staff are trained to at least Level 2 in safeguarding, with our Manager and Deputy qualified to Level 3 in Advanced Safeguarding and designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Secure entry systems, safety gates, and window guards
- Strict collection procedures with password protection
We are fully committed to providing a safe and secure environment for every child.
Healthy Pre-School
We are committed to promoting healthy lifestyles for all children.
- Part of the Golden Apple Award initiative
- Participate in the Brush Bus Scheme to support oral health
- Regularly inspected by Bury Council’s Food Standards Agency
- Only staff who hold a level 2 food hygiene certificate or above prepare and serve snacks
- We encourage healthy eating, good hygiene, and positive habits that support children’s overall wellbeing.
Working in Partnership
We maintain strong communication with parents and carers.
- We use an online app to share observations, updates, and newsletters
- Parents are kept informed about their child’s progress and daily experiences
We also work in partnership with ADAB and the Mosses Centre, enabling parents to access additional support if needed, including:
- Benefits advice
- ESOL courses
- Digital skills support
- A wide range of community activities available under one roof
Funding & Opening Times
- 15 hours funded childcare available
- 30 hours funded places for working parents
- Open Monday to Friday (term time only)
We have excellent links with local primary schools, supporting a smooth transition into Reception and nursery class.
Our Development Plans
We are committed to growing and improving our provision.
We are currently exploring plans to open a second nursery within the community, expanding our support to more families.
